Indonesian National Team: Jordi Amat Injured, Rizky Ridho Ready to Replace

The Indonesian National team has the opportunity to play the trio of  Rizky Ridho, Jay Idzes, and Mees Hilgers when they face China in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers after Jordi Amat was injured. The Indonesian national team will play their next match against China in the continuation of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers at Qingdao Stadium, Tuesday (15/10) night.

In the match, coach Shin Tae Yong has the chance to make changes to the starters, especially in the back line. Three center backs: Rizky Ridho, Jay Idzes, and Mees Hilgers can be fielded by Shin Tae Yong from the start. This is because Jordi Amat has an ankle injury.

The injury was announced directly by Jordi Amat after the duel against Bahrain. The Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) player was the starter when the Indonesian national team was held to a 2-2 draw by Bahrain due to a controversial decision by referee Ahmed Al Kaf.

"Playing in these conditions is really hard! I feel my ankle again, hoping it will get better soon," Jordi said in an Instagram post.

Rizky Ridho, who was always a starter in the first two matches in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, was immediately replaced by Hilgers and Jordi who recovered from injury.

However, with the absence of Justin Hubner and Jordi Amat who were injured, Rizky Ridho's name has a big chance of being played against China.

In order to support the three central defenders in the China vs Indonesia match, Shin Tae Yong seems to still believe in Sandy Walsh and Calvin Verdonk.

The match against China is crucial for the Indonesian National Team. The Garuda squad needs to get their first win to maintain their chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup finals.
